FREQUENTLY asked questions

what is microblading?

Microblading is the finest form of eyebrow tattooing, using a pen-like device with a disposable blade attached, cutting fine lines of pigment into the epidermis layer of the skin. Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo and lasts up to 1-3 years, annual touch-ups are recommended.

will I need a touch-up?

Your free touchup will be 4-8 weeks after your initial microblading procedure. If you wait longer than 8 weeks, no show, or cancel within 24 hours of your touch-up appointment, you will be charged $100 for further touch-up bookings.

The first appointment is all about the structure, design, and building of hair strokes. The touch-up appointment is about seeing how well the skin heals and retains pigment, as well as making any necessary adjustments to achieve the best symmetry, definition, or volume. The touch-up appointment is recommended to achieve the best results.

How long does it last?

Microblading fades over time and should be refreshed every 1-2 years. This doesn’t mean that your semi-permanent makeup will disappear. It depends on your skin and health, overtime your semi-permanent makeup may leave a soft haze of residual pigment behind.

These factors may cause your brows to fade:

  • Iron deficiency

  • Sun exposure

  • Exfoliants

Does microblading hurt?

Pain tolerance will vary from person to person. However, to help with any discomfort, I use Zensa to prep your skin before microblading.

Zensa is a strong topical anesthetic cream with a maximum strength of 5% lidocaine and anti-inflammatory ingredients, like Vitamin E for quick activation and healing. I also use a secondary numbing gel during the procedure to help ease your comfort.

Please note: if you require something a little stronger, you may ask your doctor for 10% lidocaine numbing cream. Please make sure the consistency is cream-like as the greasiness will alter the pre-draw markings.

What IS NANO BROWs?

Nano brows are created using a tattoo machine and a single needle to mimic the look of realistic hair strokes by implanting pigment beneath the skin. This service is a wonderful option for those who have oily skin and can oftentimes be used to colour correct or cover up previous brow tattooing.

HOw often should I GET NANO BROWS?

A minimum of two treatments are typically needed, at least six weeks apart. During the second session, we will make adjustments and assess the colour retention. If your tattoo does not heal perfectly in the first session, there’s no need to worry, as this is expected. From there, I will reinforce those strokes. A third session may be required.

MICROBLADING/nano brow afterCARE

DAY 1 - ABSORB - gently blot the area with a clean, dry cotton round or tissue to absorb any lymph fluid. Do this once every 30 minutes until the oozing has stopped.

DAY 2 - 7 - WASH - with a mild soap (provided by Tanya), wash your brows for 2-7 days. You are going to want to do this morning and night. This does not remove pigment, so be sure to wash them well. Focus on the areas that have natural hair. After washing, apply a rice grain size amount of aftercare ointment (provided by Tanya). Do not oversaturate, as this will suffocate your skin and affect results.

Depending on your skin type and service, you may need to continue to apply ointment after 7 days.
